kokojoo is a young Berlin-based brand making innovative drinks and other products from cocoa industry by-products. It works directly with African farmers to ensure sustainable and ethical practices of production in the country of origin, as well as direct trade.
Being an innovative brand in the relatively conservative Food and Beverages Industry, kokojoo needed a brand identity that would clearly communicate their African roots and their products’ unique qualities, whilst also emphasising their premium positioning. Another objective was to educate consumers about the complex process of cocoa production in order to focus attention on ways in which kokojoo differentiates from the industry standard by applying more sustainable and innovative practices.
We have developed a strong visual identity rooted in rich traditional African aesthetics but with a sleek minimalist edge. The landing page and web shop thrust to the centre of attention the unique characteristics of kokojoo products.
